OK, now I understand what you’re saying – that’s not how category archives work, though.
If you’re comfortable with making some code modifications, you could creating a custom category.php template in a child theme. It’ll require some PHP and HTML knowledge, along with an understanding of WP template structure.

I have a similar issue.
How do i make my portfolio look similar to the theme demo. I’ve tried following the steps on the documents, however i just can’t achieve this.
I would like for my pictures to show up as thumbnail image instead of the current format which is a list of post and etc.
I would also like to hide the description text, Date published and Line under the image.
