    Hello,

    The issue: can’t update post.

There is no spinner, no refreshing, no confirmation message after updating a post anymore.

What I’ve already did: deactivating all plugins, changing child theme to theme, activating back all plugins one by one, changing back to child theme, … Nothing work.

    I’m using mainly WP 4.7 + Avada 5.0.6 + Toolset Types & Views plugins.

When I want to refresh a post page, sometimes a pop up appears where it says “refresh or quit”. And sometimes it’s a message like “An automatic backup exists for this post. It is more recent. Show this one?”

    Anybody help ?

    Good evening,
    Ann

  • Did you just update your WordPress site?

Not “just right now” but a few days/weeks ago. When the WP 4.7 release was out.

    Any idea?

How are you maintaining those custom posts? Is that from a plugin?

Please try the following temporary steps to troubleshoot:

    • Switch to the Twenty Fifteen theme
    • Deactivate all of your plugins, except the one responsible for the custom posts
    • Clear your browser’s cache and cookies
    • Re-login and visit the post editor

Are you still unable to edit the custom posts after that?

Edit: I see you’ve tried some of those steps but can you reduce it to the minimum for testing?

I’ve tried the 4 points that you said and it still doesn’t work 🙁

In the url bar, this code appears when I click on the Publish/Update button : &wp-post-new-reload=true
Every time I click on it.
    But nothing happen…

    Any idea ?

As a workaround for dealing custom posts, try using phpMyAdmin to change the post type of the post you need to edit to “post”. It’ll then show up with regular posts where you could presumably edit and update. Then switch the post type back to what it was. If the changes aren’t to extensive, you can edit the content in phpMyAdmin. Please backup your DB before doing anything with phpMyAdmin, it’s easy to corrupt the DB with this tool if you’re not careful.

We are unable to help with any issues related to your theme or its plugins because of its commercial nature. You should seek support through the theme’s official support channel.
