I was planning to go for Bit Flows, but was advised not to as they are very new, and it would be better to pick a more established company. So I decided to try UA.
Installed it and had to connect my site. Impossible, as the site is down with the default WP database error.
Not a great start and wonder what happens to all automations when this happens? Can I trust this plugin or is it better to switch to newcomer Bit Flows before I start creating automations?

Hi @lizzy-belle, I’m really sorry for the issue you ran into here.

Uncanny Automator does not require you to connect your account unless you want to use App integrations, and only then, it’s only so we can commission the free credits you get when you create an account. Once the account is created, there is no further dependence on automatorplugin.com; App automations are handled by our API server which has a failover for redundancy. If you’re only using plugin integrations, there is no reliance on any external server for any automations.

For a more technical explanation of what happened, we migrated the site to a new host last week, and unfortunately yesterday night we overshot their server resources and auto-scaling, which caused the DB service to crash. We’re investigating why the DB service did not auto-recover.

As far as I know, this is the first time in our history that our site has been down for more than a few minutes, and maybe the only time that it was due to something that should have been within our control.

Again, I apologize that you ran into the issue that you did, but I can assure you that this is a major anomaly and that we’re going take whatever steps we can to make sure it doesn’t happen again.
