    Hi!

I have some users who are uploading .tiff files, but they should not be able to. My only guess is that MLA is allowing it in the settings, but I can’t access the Uploads tab. It’s just a white screen and the console returns a 404 error. Can you please help?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Thanks for your report and for the link to the page you’re having a problem with.

The Settings/Media Library Assistant Uploads tab is an admin mode page so I cannot see it myself. WordPress forum rules prohibit me from requesting or using admin access to your site, which protects both of us.

WordPress allows the upload of TIFF files by default; MLA is not changing that. Are your users logged in and uploading the files using the Media/Add Media File page or one of the other WordPress methods? It will be helpful to know exactly how the uploads are performed.

You should be able to remove TIFF files from the list of valid upload types with the Settings/Media Library Assistant Uploads tab. However, you wrote “I can’t access the Uploads tab.” I will need more information to investigate further.

I have not had any other reports of trouble with the Uploads tab, and I haven’t changed anything related to it in recent updates. Are the other Settings/Media Library Assistant tabs working for you? In particular, does the Debug tab work? If so, can you see any messages in the Error Log area at the bottom of the tab that might be helpful? If you find anything useful, is it possible to contact me at my web site and send a copy of the PHP log and the Tools/Site Health Info tab by email? I can post a summary here when the issue is resolved.

You can use the Settings/Media Library Assistant Debug tab to download a copy of the log to a text file. You can use the “Copy site info to clipboard” function of the Site Health Info tab to copy the information to a text file. If you need more specific guidance, let me know.

I will leave this topic unresolved for now and I hope to hear from you soon. Thanks for your interest in the plugin.

I will be releasing a new MLA version soon and I would love to resolve this issue before that happens. If you have any information to share to help me investigate further, please follow up by email at my web site. Thanks.

It has been six weeks since my last post in this topic. I assume you have found a solution to your issue with accessing the Settings/Media Library Assistant Uploads tab.

I am marking this topic resolved, but please update it or contact me at my web site if the problem persists and you have additional details to share.
