Every time I add a new link in a particular category all that happens is that it just replaces the previous link with the new link I tried to add. IE: It deletes the link I had added to Link Library and replaces it with the new link.
I just started using Link Library yesterday when I just then found out that SIMPLE LINKS had been discontinued a few months ago.

Thank you but don’t get any help here and will need to remove plugin if it doesn’t work!

You might not be aware, but every plugin offered for FREE on the WordPress plugin repository is created by independent developers on a voluntary basis. I personally have been developing Link Library by myself for 17 years in my spare time. I have a full time job and a family and don’t always have time to answer support questions quickly when they are posted on this forum. If you always want to get quick responses, you might want to look at paid plugins as can be found on sites like codecanyon.net. All of those plugins have a base cost and the option to pay for additional support.

Now, in terms of your question, I assume that you are creating new links in the WordPress administration section, correct? If so, what I think is happening is that you have not noticed that after creating a new post, WordPress re-displays that item to allow you to change it. If you look at the top of the page, the title changes from Add Link to Edit Link. It also changes the button on the top right from saying Publish to saying Update.

If you want to create a new link right after creating a new one, you need to click on the Add New button at the top of the page, next to the Edit Link title, to create a new link.

Many sections of WordPress work this way. Let me know if this answers your questions and please consider donating to support this plugin’s development.

    Thanks Yannick,
I would love to be paying you for a PRO VERSION but it already costes me hundreds for hosting and 14 domains that after 20 years I have only made about $500 so I just try to do everything for free hoping that one day I can be a paid customer in something.
Thank youu for the suggestion and I will try to figure out how to put your suggestion to use.
Thank you very much for the suggestion!

I understand that it is not easy getting a business off the ground and understand that WordPress and it’s free plugins can help with this. My main point is that this is a free plugin. I always try to answer people, but you have a bit more accepting of delays in responses than two days when using free software.

    Hey Yannick,
I’m not exactly sure if I got it figured out but I did try to follow your instructions and have been able to add three links in a row. If it continues to work and I have convinced myself that I have it down pat I promise that a small donation will be submitted for the great plugin I think it is or will be.

    Thanks for the help,
    Ken

Glad to hear that this seems to have been the issue!

How do I send donation using credit card as I won’t use commie PayPal?

The other method that some people have used to send me funds in the past is sending me a Amazon.ca gift card (since I’m located in Canada). That being said, Amazon might be another online site you don’t do business with. If that is a possibility, you can purchase a gift card here (https://www.amazon.ca/Amazon-ca-eGift-Card-Amazon-Logo/dp/B07P68FH74/ref=sr_1_5?crid=2YAMYAEJBX34N) where you can set the desired amount and set the recipient as ylefebvre at gmail dot com (convert these words to an e-mail address)

    Great!
I am in Calgary and do use Amazon and will figure that out… 🙂

Think I figured out the Amazon Canada gift card and sent a donation Yannick and you should have received it by now.
Just one more question and I think it will make me happy!
Can you let me know how to make it so that only ONE CATEGORY of links is displayed at a time on the site? I keep getting multiple CATEGORIES showing up in each block.
    Thanks again,
    Ken

    No worries Yannick…
It appears I got it figured out 🙂

I have received the gift card. Thank you for your generous support. Glad you figured out the answer to your question about showing one category at a time.

I’m sorry Yannick but I thought I had the problem solved and unfortunately it’s not the case.
I was able to add 30 links to the link library, 6 each in six different categories.
But after editing the blocks and naming each block with each of the different categories I ended up with the same six links showing in each block.
I spent a few hours in the “Library configurations” in Link Library trying to figure out how to fix it with no luck.
Do you have a suggestion for me to solve the problem? That is the last problem I can see could conceivably show up and I would be on my way with the use of your great plugin.
    Much appreciated,
    Ken

Just to be sure, you are using the Link Library Links block in the block editor, correct? If so, expand the section called Configuration Overrides on the block definition, then go and select the category to be displayed in that block instance.
