Cannot use in the STUDIO

Hi,

It’s a very good plugin.

However, when I tried to use it in STUDIO, I encountered this error and couldn’t activate the plugin.

The Prime Mover plugin cannot be activated because it requires unique security keys defined in wp-config.php. Some of your security constants are duplicated which is not advisable for best security.

Please use this tool to re-generate all keys : https://api.wordpress.org/secret-key/1.1/salt/ . Clear your browser cache and re-activate the plugin again.

I haven’t installed any other plugins. I just did a clean installation of WordPress in STUDIO.

What can I do ?

Hello Ryo, thank you for using the Prime Mover plugin! I’m sorry, but the plugin has not yet been thoroughly tested for the Studio app. It is because of the following reasons:
- The default database used is SQLite which is not supported by Prime Mover database connections (it can only support MySQL and MariaDB). It’s possible you can work around this by changing SQLite to MySQL by following these tips and configuring your wp-config to connect to MySQL.
- wp-config.php Security keys are not added by default upon site installation. This results in a warning error that you see when activating the plugin. The workaround is to open your wp-config.php and replace all security constants with values taken from https://api.wordpress.org/secret-key/1.1/salt/. For details on how to do this, please check out this tutorial.
That’s it. If you need to use alternatives that are fully compatible with Prime Mover – there are many. You can use any of the following tested apps:
- Local WP
- XAMPP
- Laragon.
- Bitnami WordPress VM
- MAMP (if using Mac)
- WAMP (if using Windows)

I found the Demo Sites feature in STUDIO to be useful, but due to performance issues, I returned to Local WP.

The tips and information you provided will be helpful for others who encounter the same error.
