Hi @eleventyseventy
Many thanks! I’m glad you like the plugin.
This issue is a bit unusual. Could you check if there are any mu-plugins?
You can find them on the Plugins page → Must-Use.
I’m not saying this is necessarily the case, but nowadays, on some hosting environments, a “fresh” installation can sometimes include unexpected bloat without you realizing it.
Have you experienced this issue only on SiteGround, or also on other hosting providers?
Do you know the PHP version that is running on the server?
Best regards
Jose
Hi Jose and thanks for the reply. There aren’t any mu plugins and your plugin is the only one installed. The plugin is also active and working fine on another site on Siteground that uses the same theme. Strangely, both are on WP 6.9 and both run on php 8.2.30.
I then migrated the test site to my local environment (WAMP server) and the error still shows.
Back on Siteground, I then I rolled back php version to 7.4.33 but it still didn’t work so I rolled back WP to 6.8 (using WP Downgrade plugin) and it worked. I then went forward right up to WP 6.8.3 and it works so I guess something in the 6.9 has caused the issue on my hosting environment. I hope this info helps you troubleshoot – Best regards 🙂
Hi @eleventyseventy
Could it be that when you updated WordPress to 6.8.3, SiteGround cleared some cache that was causing the issue?
Is it now working with WordPress 6.9?
Honestly, I haven’t completely understood what was causing the issue. However, I suggest that if something similar happens again, you deactivate and delete Essential Form from the Plugins page and then install it again. This will give you a fresh installation of Essential Form.
Best regards
Jose
I don’t think it’s caching because I’ve reinstalled 6.9 and it’s now not working again. Uninstalling and re-installing the plugin doesn’t make any difference.
Not to worry – If I figure out what’s triggering it. I’ll let you know
