Andrew – I have followed your advice. Thanks.
1. Tried using different browsers (chrome, safari, and firefox)
2. Turned on script debugging. Issue still persists.
3. Diagnosis – I used chrome. Not sure if I did this right, though.
Is this the page where I’m supposed to open console? I’m not an expert at this, sorry

Thank you
Hello,
Please confirm if the permissions of wp-content/uploads folder is 777. Also try uploading new files for wordpress (excluding wp-config.php and wp-content folder) and run the WordPress upgrade.

Yes you were looking in the correct place and you have no JavaScript errors.
Hello Russel. Thanks for the suggestions.
Yes, I changed the permissions wp-content/uploads folder from 755 to 777.

I tried to insert a new upload and also tried to insert via the media library. No luck still.
I have already changed file permissions back to 755.
About uploading new files, do you mean wordpress core files? (sorry not an expert here)
Anyway, I requested my web host to also check on this and sent me this:
“I did replace the core WordPress files with fresh copies (including the entire wp-admin directory) to be safe, but currently I am not able to reproduce what you are seeing.”
I think my host tried to upload new files for wordpress but cannot reproduce the same problem.
Thank you.
Andrew – thanks for confirming that. Do you have an idea what could be causing the problem? I’ve tried different suggestions from people who seem to have the same problem on here. No joy.
I’m honestly getting very frustrated already. I hope someone can shed light.
Thank you for your input.
Still can’t insert media to post. Any ideas? I’m thinking of downgrading wordpress to 3.9 and see if that can fix the issue. Not sure if this is a good idea, though.
