Postie started giving errors about a week ago where it would create tmptitle entries. I tried all the solutions but none would fix it. Now, with nothing changing it will not pass the settings test on the postie congig page. The test log is below

I can connect to email direct and by webmail using the URL and IP, but I get the same error with postie regardless of the settings.
Its probably something stupid I have done, but any help appreciated

I’d check with your hosting provider to make sure outbound connections are allowed on port 993.

I’d also check with your email provider to ensure IMAP connections are enabled.

Hi Wayne. Turns out it was an error in a DNS txt file blocking the connection. That is all fixed and Postie now accesses the email, but I now have the tmptitle issue. Every time postie runs it creates its tmptitle file, but fails to complete processing. A new tmptitle file is created every time postie checks email and the processed email is not deleted. It does however copy the image into the library each time it runs.
    Any ideas?

The next step would be to use the support add-on

    https://postieplugin.com/downloads/support-addon/

follow the instructions on how to enable and send me the detailed logs.

Hi Wayne, Thanks for all the help.
I have downloaded, installed and run the support plugin, but I seem to have some odd results. I have enabled the addon and set the count to 1, I have the banner at the top of each page telling me the addon is active and I have run debug, getting the debug detail displayed on screen. The trouble is, I cannot see the zip files in the media folder. I see the image from the blog post, but no additional file. Checking through CPanel I have found 4 files labelled Postie zip xxxxxx.part.
I have emailed these files along with the displayed log page to your help email address.

Thanks for the logs, unfortunately they weren’t very helpful.

This is a bit tedious, but since this might be due to a plugin conflict the next step is to disable all the plugins except Postie. Then test to see if Post is working correctly. Then enable one plugin at a time and retest until it stops working again.
