I have enabled “test” in the plugin API settings, and am attempting to process a test credit card transaction.

From International Credit Card Numbers/AsiaPacific/Australia in the documents section I have selected the card number 4000 0003 6000 0006.

However, when I purchase a product and enter this number at checkout with a future expiry date and CVC number of my own choice, I get the message “Please read and accept the terms and conditions to proceed with the order” (see link to screenshot)

I can see nowhere on the checkout page to click a checkbox for this message, and I have not set up such a page myself.

How do I solve this problem?

On another matter, I notice that the settings for payment methods such as Apple Pay and Google Pay allow for these methods to be added to a product page as well as the checkout page.

However this option does not appear to be available for credit cards.

Is there any reason for this, or am I missing something?

    I would appreciate any assistance.

    Hi @mc1969,

The only way you would see that terms and conditions message is if you have enabled terms and conditions on your checkout page. If you aren’t seeing it then I recommend you review your themes style sheet to see if it’s perhaps hiding the checkbox. A simple search using your browser Console tools will tell you if the terms and conditions element exists on the page. If you provide a link to your website I’ll be happy to review it and take a screenshot of where the terms and conditions element exists.

Regarding credit cards on product pages, that is not possible because there is no way to extract a customer’s billing and shipping info from them just entering credit card info. The reason Apple Pay google pay can be offered on product pages is because their wallets export all the necessary information to create an order.

    Kind regards,

    Hi @mc1969,

I was able to locate your account info and I reviewed your checkout page. You appear to be rendering the terms element in the footer of your theme and that’s why the validation is triggering that message. Please see linked screenshots:

    Hi @mr.clayton

This would have to be the quickest response to a forum post that I’ve ever had.

I was just in the middle of replying to your first response when your second one came through.

It’s almost as though you were looking over my shoulder while I was typing!

The site is still under construction as you may have gathered, and I am adapting one of the ready made sites that come with the theme.

The newsletter sign up form in the footer came with the dummy site, and I have not got round to deciding what to do with it yet. Even so, it would not have occurred to me that it would have any effect on the checkout page.

All I had to do was untick the box at the bottom of the form which said “Show Privacy Statement”, and the problem was solved.

I have since successfully processed an order and everything looks OK.

I take your point about the problem with showing credit cards on the product page, and it makes perfect sense.

Many thanks once again for your help.
