Can 2FA work alongside passkeys
-
The Plugin works really well. If for any reason I wanted to back to the password, is there a 2FA plugin I should try that works really well with the Passkeys plugin?
Alternatively, is there a Plugin setting that ensures the password is ignored and lets me only login with a Passkeys?

Secure Passkeys should work alongside any 2FA plugin without issues, you can try whichever 2FA plugin.
For the second question, forcing login only with Passkeys (ignoring passwords) is not currently available, but it may be introduced in a future release.
Thanks for your quick response. I can confirm Two-Factor works fine with your plugin.
@westerdaled Thanks a lot for the feedback.
@endisha , apologies I might need to retract my previous confirmation. It is only after closing browser sessions and then re-trying to login, do I see that the Passkeys button is no longer available if https://en-gb.wordpress.org/plugins/two-factor/ is enabled. Hopefully someone else can verify this so the issue is not local to any of my sites.
Hello @westerdaled
As I mentioned above, Secure Passkey shouldn’t conflict with other plugins, though it’s still possible. So, has the issue been fixed, or are you looking for an alternative solution?
I also have a 2FA plugin that works well, but it only supports the default WordPress login form, not WooCommerce or other plugins.
You can check it out here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/secure-tfa
Hi @endisha
I didn’t have a lot luck combining Secure Passkey with 2fa plugins. So far I have tried
When I click the button and enter pin or face recognition the result is an error . Disable the current 2FA plugin and I can successfully login with Secure Passkey .
However, I have now enabled your plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/secure-tfa and now tested this with the secure passkey plugin. All good, both work. Thanks for the advice.
For me, when I try to use this plugin alongside two-factor version 0.14.2, I get a failure to login with my saved passkey. The error message says “Passkey authentication failed. Please try again if you want to proceed.” When I take a look in the browser web tools, the response from the ajax request that is trying to authenticate via the passkey is the two-factor 2FA login verification form.

The new release 1.2.4 has been published. Please check it, and it includes a fix for the 2FA plugins and should now work correctly for you.
I have been able to test this on one of my websites and can report: I could use 2FA to log in, logged out and then log in with Secure Passkeys. No issues in either case . Thanks very much for fixing this issue.
@westerdaled Great to hear. You’re very welcome.
