    Hi all,

I have a client who uses MailPoet Premium on their website to send out newsletters. We have a dev, test, and live build of their site so that we can make edits without interrupting the live site (Pantheon hosting).

We are having an issue where campaigns are being sent from the dev & test sites even though we don’t have a subscription key set up on the two environments. For example, we had the live email go out at 11 AM today, then on the dev site at 4:11 PM and then on the test site at 4:32 pm.

As of now, I have deactivated the plugin on the test and dev environments and will keep it deactivated to hopefully not have this issue again in the future – but does anyone have any insight as to why this is happening?

    Hi @raesitka,

We are having an issue where campaigns are being sent from the dev & test sites even though we don’t have a subscription key set up on the two environments.

Please note you don’t need to have a subscription key activated for your websites in order to send your emails if you have less than 1,000 subscribers and are using a 3rd-party sending method.

So if you have selected “Other” in the MailPoet > Settings > Send With… tab and the campaigns are scheduled to be sent from the dev and test websites, they will be sent.

If these are Post Notifications and Welcome Emails, you can keep them deactivated for these two websites. If they are standard newsletters, you need to keep them as drafts.

Does it make sense? Let us know if you have any other questions!

    Hi again,

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – we’ll be here if and/or when you are ready to continue.
