    Hi @nimonogi,

I understand how disruptive it feels when checkout gets stuck right after an update, especially when account creation is enabled and payments stop going through. No worries, I will help you isolate whether this is a settings change, a checkout template issue, or a gateway conflict, and give you a safe workaround so you can keep taking orders.

    First, a quick confirmation
Did this exact flow work before the update and only start failing immediately after? What WooCommerce version were you on before the update, and which version did you update to? Knowing that helps us pinpoint if this is a regression tied to the current release.

Safe workarounds you can apply right away

    1. Temporarily disable account creation at checkout. Go to WooCommerce, Settings, Accounts and Privacy, uncheck “Allow customers to create an account during checkout”, then test a live payment. This keeps revenue flowing while we investigate.
    2. If you are using the Checkout block, switch to the Classic checkout page. Create a page with the shortcode [woocommerce_checkout], set it as the Checkout page in WooCommerce, Settings, Advanced, then test again.

Targeted checks to find the cause

    1. Theme or plugin conflict. On a staging site, switch to Storefront and deactivate all plugins except WooCommerce and your payment gateway. Enable account creation again and test. If it works, reactivate items one by one until the issue returns.
    2. Account settings. In Accounts and Privacy, test with “Send password setup link (recommended)” enabled. Custom username or password fields from plugins can block submission.
    3. Captcha or security. If you use reCAPTCHA, Turnstile, login blockers, or custom checkout field plugins, disable them briefly and retest, since they often hook into registration and can stop the checkout submit.
    4. Gateway logs. Go to WooCommerce, Status, Logs, pick your payment gateway log for today, click View, and check for declines or validation errors that happen only when the “create account” box is ticked.

If the issue persists, please share
    • A System Status Report from WooCommerce, Status, Get system report, paste it to https://pastebin.com and share the link.
    • A screenshot of WooCommerce, Settings, Accounts and Privacy showing the current checkboxes, via https://snipboard.io.
    • Which checkout you are using, Classic shortcode or Blocks.
    • Your payment gateway name and today’s gateway log excerpt.

Once we have those, we’ll be able to troubleshoot with you further to the exact fix, whether that is a setting change, a specific plugin conflict, or a template override. Looking forward to your update.
