BuddyPress 12.0 & Third Party Plugins (Youzify)

I recognize that BuddyPress is free software operated by unpaid volunteers and am grateful for the work that has been put into it to support tens of thousands of sites. With no paid version available, we are grateful for the efforts to respond to individual inquiries.

I am working on a small site, http://www.varsityed.com, on the side of a full-time job, so I don’t make the progress many professional site developers do.

I use BuddyPress with the third-party add-on Youzify from KaineLabs. I have come to learn that it seems the relationship between the two is like this: BuddyPress is the car (works well, is functional, and gets you where you want to go), and Youzify is the “trim” (nice paint and wheels, leather interior, fancy stereo).

With BuddyPress 12.0 in December 2023, I must have run into the same issues as others; I am just realizing it now while working on it in my spare time. Noticing the issues, I reached out to my Youzify team via a paid support program.

I understand that this is a very specific combination of two plugins; however, I was hoping that being able to correct these issues may serve to help the core team address more third-party issues and help site developers when running into issues with this or similar plugins.

After about four days of research, testing, and discussion, here is where I am and am seeking counsel:

• WordPress 6.4.3.
• Theme: Elementor Hello 3.0.1
• BuddyPress 12.2.2.0
• Youzify 3.4.8

YOUZIFY activated, BP Classic deactivated:

• Five BuddyPress pages missing
• GROUPS does not work at all (I recognize that it was not working properly with it on). As you can see, the pages do not populate with content:

YOUZIFY deactivated, BP Classic deactivated:

• five buddypress pages missing
• Groups pages do not work
• ‘Normal’ BP page format (I guess; I have never used BP before)

Youzify deactivated, BP Classic activated:

• five buddypress pages have returned
