    I have a website based on Twenty Eleven theme with a blog page that looks like this>

    It displays the latest blogs (in full) on the left side of the page and has a complete index (with subcategories) on the right.

    I have another website based on the Twenty Twenty-two theme (full block editing). I am trying to recreate that blog page style in Twenty Twenty-two.

    I tried Latest Posts on the right, but it does not show the categories, etc.

    I tried two Table of Contents plugins, but neither worked. One displayed nothing and the other just displayed the shortcode.

    Can anyone help me?

    Hey @pabirds,

    This can be achieved by creating a page template and then creating a page with the column block. The guide below will help you get your desired results:

    • On your admin dashboard head to Appearance > Editor.
    • Click Templates > Add Template.
    • Select Pagespick a page to apply the template to. In your case, I guess it would be “birdlore-blog”.
    • I advise your pick the displayed pattern on the pop-up screen.
    • Click the insert block icon, then add the column block.
    • Select the layout of page, in your case the 66/33 would be best.
    • At the top of the page on the menu bar, click the document overview icon (1).
    • Collapse the columns item, drag the group block into the first column block (2).
    • Click the second column and insert the categories list block.
    • Click the settings(3) and enable show hierarchy option (This displays subcategories as a child of main categories).
    • Save the changes.

    The screenshot below should show the numbered points.

    After performing all these steps, you should have a page with the sidebar section.
