    Not only do the automatic updates kill my site – If I do not update it kills my site
    Horrible plugin – no widget boxes
    Not up to par with any other editor
    I even bought pro in an attempt to make it better
    Worst decision I ever made
    Total piece of garbage

    Sounds like you have an unstable install of WordPress or a plugin conflict. An update should not kill your website, unless something else is going on.

    If widgets are essential to you, using your theme and extending Gutenberg might be the best option for you.
