Automatic update theme

    Hi!

    I am using WP for my webshop and I’m trying to activate an automatic theme updater. My theme (Savoy) says I have to activate it with an API, which I have. When I try to establish the connection, I get the following error:

    Environment error: Unable to increase maximum execution time. Due to settings on your server, large themes may be unable to update automatically. Please consult your server administrator if this causes issues for you.

    I contacted my server administrator and they say it’s a limitation in their system, users can’t change the execution time, because webhosting packages are on shared servers. Now I’m not an expert, so I would like to know whether there is an other option to make the automatic theme updater possible.

    Hi Jan,

    If you talked with support and they confirmed that your hosting plan has limitations, that is it. Either purchase some other hosting package and resolve your limitations or leave things as they are and update theme manually.
