Automatic Backups before Plugin or Core Updates?

    Is there any plan to add this option? I know other backup plugins have it and it is extremely useful since you can basically enable them to always automatically perform a backup before you update a plugin, core, etc. The plugins I saw that have it basically let you decide if you want the feature enabled or not. Would be an amazing addition. I know we can manually just perform a backup ourselves beforehand each time, but this would significantly help workflow.

    This feature would make it so I don’t need any other plugins for backups. Just curious if any thoughts or plans for this? Thanks.

    We haven’t ever really had anyone ask, but it does seem like a good idea, which plugins are you referring to?

    There are a few that offer it. I know updraft does and I could try to find which others. Honestly we like Duplicator Pro the most right now so I haven’t checked in awhile, just remember seeing it as a very useful feature.

    We currently also use vaultpress to do real time backups incase we ever forget to backup before something messes up but I’m sure real time backups must take additional site resources. If duplicator did the backups prior to any updates that would cover a large majority of risk and we would probably stop using vaultpress at the same time so we can optimize site speed.
