Hi Leo,
Thanks for responding. I’m using the latest version of WP with GeneratePress and Gutenberg doesn’t have screen options on the actual post editor.
From what I can see, you can only access them by clicking on the gear > option.
Doing so, there’s no checkbox for “authors” to enable/disable. I have the standard stuff like permalinks, category, discussion, etc. But “authors” isn’t an option on that list.
Here’s what the panel shows right now:

Hmm check out the “Changing the Author in the Gutenberg Editor” section of this article:
https://wpklik.com/wordpress-tutorials/change-author-wordpress-classic-gutenberg/
Do you not see it there?
If not then it might be good to disable all plugins to test is there is an unknown conflict.
If that still doesn’t work, can you switch to a default WordPress theme?
Things like this are all handled by WordPress itself so I don’t believe GP is causing the issue.
Let me know what you find 🙂
Are you sure all 3 authors had the ability to create content? Were they using the default “Author” role?
I ask because I was perplexed by this as well, but I only had 1 Administrator and 1 Subscriber. Since the admin was the only user with the capability to author content, all abilities to change the author were removed.
As soon as I added another user who could create content, the Author dropdown came back.
