• I wanted to install one plugin, “Feeds for YouTube.” After the installation, there were 8 plugins installed!

Eight plugins. Okay, it might be a free plugin, but it is completely unacceptable to install 7 additional plugins!

I will never install another plugin from Smash Balloon again.

    Hi @winock

Thank you for sharing your feedback; I understand why this would be frustrating.

During the initial setup wizard for Feeds for YouTube, there is a step that offers the option to install a couple of additional, free plugins that can complement the main plugin. These include WPConsent and our Social Feed Collection. They are optional, but they are pre-selected by default for convenience, and a notice explains that continuing with the setup will install them unless they are manually deselected.

If those options were not unchecked during the setup process, the additional plugins would have been installed automatically. I understand this may not have been your intention, and I appreciate you calling it out.

If you would like to remove the extra plugins, you can do so at any time by following these steps:

    • Go to Plugins > Installed Plugins in your WordPress dashboard.
    • Locate the plugins you would like to remove (for example, WPConsent or other free Smash Balloon plugins).
    • Click Deactivate under the plugin name.
    • Once deactivated, click Delete to remove it completely.

This will not affect your YouTube feed.

We value your feedback, as it helps us improve the setup experience and make things clearer for users. If you have any questions or would like assistance with your YouTube feed, please let us know; we are happy to help.

    Thanks!
