All orders gone, checkout does not work

Error 521: Unable to create order. Please try again.
The last time I know the site worked properly was April 27. We haven’t checked the site in a few weeks. Yesterday I noticed all our orders were missing. Today a customer sent me the above error message on checkout to PayPal.
I also noticed yesterday that our products page in the Dashboard view is odd.
I asked BlueHost to restore the database to April 25 but that did not resolve the problem. Still no orders and no way to place an order. (error message).
Thoughts?
