• I’ve had a travel blog for a long time now and was looking for a way to grow my audience given my limited time. One thing I wanted was a chatbot to answer basic questions. In my career, I’ve dealt with building conversations, and these build and build on each other, but they are time consuming.

Lately, I’ve been reading about ChatGPT and I found AI Engine. It was well reviewed and rated. So, I tried the free version. I signed up for an OpenAI account and linked them together. I was expecting to spend hours and hours building prompts and filters. But with the docs, I had the Chatbot up in just minutes. It was that easy.

Now, I did not want to spend hundreds of dollars on AI queries like, “write me code to …” or “draw me this or that”. My blog focuses on travel I did not want people asking questions on coding or something other than travel. So, I went to the interface and found the “mode” for my bot and in just three sentences, I locked it down. I also had a use case that I did not want children asking “adult” questions, so I added a sentence and now it won’t tell you anything about the “red-light districts in Amsterdam”. Four sentences was all it took, all written in plain english (though I also set the language to Spanish and tried it and it still locked it down). Talk about simple. There are more features I can talk about, but this was the most important to me right now.
