In any case the message is from Google and your API key is wrong or your API is restricted in some way ( that has changed).
In the first instance I would suggest creating a new valid API key and using that

I think may be this plugin updated then after issue arise or google key somethink change exact reasons I can’t identify
The last time code changed on this plugin was 5 months ago and even then nothing to do with API key process.
So u likely anything to do with the plugin code.
As mentioned the message is a Google message and is because your API key at Google is invalid or restricted.
