As long as the podcast posts are set to use different category feeds, they’ll remain separate. That’s how category podcast feeds are designed to work. 🙂
Well – they might be designed to work that way but I’ve either done something wrong or iTunes are kicking their heels, or… I don’t know what!#
So started out with a category podcast for our church a couple of years ago with a category feed using category ‘sermon-podcast’. Eventually the feed started to appear in iTunes!
About two weeks ago added a second category – ‘discipleship-podcast’, filled everything in as required (I think) but nothing so far.
Can see the first category feed in iTunes store, and I’m assuming In should see the second. That correct? If so where is it, or should I expect it to take a long time to appear?
I need expert in podcasting!!!
Last line should have said “I’m no expert in podcasting” but maybe what I wrote is true too! Or “I need to be an expert in podcasting”!

The second category feed won’t show up in iTunes automatically. You have to submit the podcast feed URL of the second category feed to Podcasts Connect, just like the first feed.
If you’re having trouble finding the URL of the second category feed, log into your WordPress site and go to PowerPress >> Category Podcasting and you’ll see a list of all of your category feeds there along with their corresponding URLs.
Ok thanks, think I’ve got that process kicked off correctly now. Just waiting to hear back from Apple/iTunes.
On the Category Podcasting page there’s a setting:
Podcast Only Feeds Enable to separate blog posts from podcast episodes.
What exactly does this do? Can’t find any documentation/help that explains it.
Message back from iTunes – podcast feed being reviewed now! Thanks

By default, WordPress will add everything within a category to that category’s RSS feed. That includes post with podcasts (“podcast episodes”) and posts without podcasts (“blog posts”). If you check the selection referenced above, PowerPress will include only posts from that category that contain podcast episodes in the feed. If you’re planning on posting both blog entries and podcast episodes within the same category, you may want to check that option. If you’re only posting podcast episodes, you can just leave it alone.
And be sure to let us know what happens with the iTunes submission!
