Adding jQuery and default sorting options

Is it possible to add jQuery to the plugin in order to be able to dynamically search from a long drop down list? I have a drop down with 200+ items, each tied to a post. I would like the user to be able to start typing in the drop down and get some auto-complete options as he/she types.
Also, it would be really helpful if the plugin included some default sorting options, such as alphabetical for instance.
