Add Padding / Borders to Pages

Hi,

I added Hillstra yesterday and got a long well creating a cool landing page, but then I saw that the actual site looks different than in the preview. Namely, there are almost no borders left and right. I added in CSS margins, but then it creates a white border around everything, including the header picture, which I want to have as is.

How can I add borders / margins / padding on the left and right, so that the icons, pictures and the text stay more condensed in the middle?

PS: I’m using another theme right now, until I know how to fix borders for Hillstar.
