Hi @bobwebb,
Thanks for your message.
It depends what you want to do. Can you tell me a bit more about your use case and I should be able to say either way.
Apologies I missed your reply, hence the delay.
Basically what I have is a library system and specifically what I’d like to do is run a scheduled bit of code that would run through the custom post type looking for books that are over-due for return. I can code this and fire a trigger and I’d like that in combination with your plugin.
So instead of using a standard WP trigger could I use my own so I have total control over when it’s fired? At the moment I can do this using the Updated trigger on my post type but there are other functions that do this. I’ve concerned creating a new custom post for each over-due book then, your plugin on the creation of those and then deleting the new post but it seems more steps than need to be there.
Thanks in advance.
“I’ve concerned creating” sorry should be “I’ve considered creating”
Hi @bobwebb,
Thanks for your message.
If you updated the value of a custom field then you could use the Custom Fields add-on to trigger a Custom Field Value Updated notification to send out a notification.
This is probably the neatest way to do this using BNFW without adding additional new post/updated notifications.

Let me know if this help.
Thanks that looks it would work, I’ll look into it.
