Abandoned???

I’m happily using Easing Slider on several sites, but WordFence (and the WordPress plugin directory) keeps flagging this plugin as obsolete… Is the plugin still safe to use since it hasn’t evidently been updated in over 3 years? I would suggest some mechanism(s) for plugins that are perfectly fine to use, even if they haven’t been updated in a few years, so that I wouldn’t be tempted to replace the plugin for another that has more frequent updates, only because the plugin is flagged as “abandoned” … Any suggestions? This is really a more general question for the entire WP plugin ecosystem. Thanks in advance for any suggestions! 🙂
