• While still early days, I was really pleased with the use experience of the new editor and I’m really curious to see how this will be extended for custom post types and things like WooCommerce.

    The general edit UI is much smoother than the current editor, the side panels work better and look much more modern and crisp, so I hope this can set the trend for other aspects of the admin UI too.

    Drag-and-drop for blocks and multi-column seem like obvious omissions, but the blocks feature has the potential to transform the way we build WordPress themes. Looking forward to see how it evolves.

    You may be interested to know drag-and-drop and other multi-column is set to come in the next focus, as things hand to Customization. That’s when the full page editing will take place. It’s going to be an exciting next stage.
