• I have 1 post type with 4 taxonomies. Each taxonomy term has restrict access to this term and it's posts enabled.

All 4 have display 404 disabled, and set to redirect, however as soon as a 2nd taxonomy term has this setting, the redirects don’t work and they all default to display 404 pages.

    Hello @bdbolin

The Would you like to display 404 page when users haven’t access? (Would you like to display 404 error on the term’s archive page and terms’ posts single pages when users haven’t access?) setting has greater priority than the What happens when users without access try to view the post? (What happens when users without access try to view the term’s post?) setting. Redirect does not work if the page returns the HTTP 404 Not Found response status code.

    Please verify that:

    • the page’s “Would you like to display 404 page when users haven’t access?” setting is turned off.
    • the page is not a child page of the parent page with the “Would you like to display 404 page when users haven’t access?” setting turned on.
    • the page does not have terms with the “Would you like to display 404 error on the term’s archive page and terms’ posts single pages when users haven’t access?” setting turned on.

Please also verify that the page is not cached.

There is no caching, and they are all set to “redirect” – however as soon as more than one post taxonomy already has that setting, it breaks and 404’s.

I have posts, with 4 taxonomies. All 4 have all terms set to redirect. If I have any one taxonomy associated to the post – it works fine, it redirects. As soon as I have more than one taxonomy association with the redirect option, it goes to a 404. I think your plugin breaks itself as soon as there is more than one.

Maybe you use a taxonomy based permalink structure and the site can not parse a link properly. Verify the “Permalink structure” setting on wp-admin > Settings > Permalinks.

Can you access the post if the Content Restriction feature is disabled? Please do a test – add two taxonomies without content restriction (the Restrict access to this term and its posts? setting is turned off) to the post and try to access this post.

    1. Term archive file works fine content restrictions are disabled
    2. It also works fine with one taxonomy term with content restrictions
    3. Adding more than one taxonomy with restrictions breaks it and it 404’s.

I can not reproduce this issue on my testing site. A link to the post with two terms with content restriction redirects, not displays 404. See images with my settings:

Are your settings different from those shown in my example? Could you take similar screenshots and share images with a reputable image-sharing service for screenshots?
