    Hi there,
    I am new to wordpress.

I bought a domain name http://www.matthewcsaville.com a while ago with crazydomains
I had a Indexhibit website hosted also by crazydomains.
I wanted to start to learn wordpress so I decided to delete all the files I had on that host.
I then went to bluehost for hosting, using my existing domain name.
I then used the WordPress installer on bluehost.
the final page gives a URL that I can access my wordpress site with using the username and password that I had specified.
When I try to go to this URL the first page I see says…

    Not Found

The requested URL /wp-login.php was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

    Apache/2.2.15 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.15 OpenSSL/0.9.8e-fips-rhel5 mod_bwlimited/1.4 mod_perl/2.0.4 Perl/v5.8.8 Server at matthewcsaville.com Port 80

so, I can’t even get to the login page to start using the cms software..
Could this be something to do with my domain name being registered with crazydomains?
Or do I need to direct the domain from my old host to my new one?

Apologies for my incompetence, I am new here.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks

  • I would check where http://www.matthewcsaville.com is actually being hosted. your DNS records need to point to the server you want to use bluehosts? rather than crazydomains.

    Checking your name servers produces

    DNS Delegation details:
    Nameserver 1: ns4.syra.net.au
    Nameserver IP 1: 203.170.87.3
    Nameserver 2: ns5.syra.net.au
    Nameserver IP 2: 173.230.148.113

So at the moment trying to use your http://www.matthewcsaville.com address will take you to the physical server that the above nameservers are pointing to.

Thank you so much, this was the problem I simply needed to re direct the domain to the correct server..
Now I get to this lovely page

    Error establishing a database connection
This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at localhost. This could mean your host’s database server is down.

Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
Are you sure that the database server is running?
If you’re unsure what these terms mean you should probably contact your host. If you still need help you can always visit the WordPress Support Forums.

I havent checked the wp-config.php file yet so il do that and get back.
    Thanks again!

I’m still seeing the database error for matthewcsaville.com. I traced the IP back and it is a bluehost IP address. Your NameServers are also properly pointed to BlueHost. If you haven’t done anything with this install, then it may be easiest to simply uninstall and re-install it.

Otherwise, check your wp-config.php and make sure that your database connection details are all correct. You may also want to delete your database username via the MySQL Databases icon in your cPanel, then re-create the same database username with any secure/random password. Then update your wp-config.php to make sure the proper username is in there with the new password you gave it.
