Hello,
I believe this has something to do with your server setup because I haven’t made any changes to this plugin recently that could cause this issue.
Let’s see if anyone else has had a similar problem, because it could also be related to the new WP version. However, I maintain hundreds of websites, and I haven’t encountered this issue yet.
It’s quite strange, because the support team at wpengine.com indicated that the issue is related to the plugin. Unfortunately, my own knowledge was not sufficient to determine the root cause, but I noticed that the image problem occurs after updating files on the server.
For some reason, only certain images are affected. I also use the Smush Pro plugin; however, disabling it did not resolve the issue.

Can you ask them for more details?
Because if there will be some code problem in my plugin, then all the images should be affected…
Or maybe only new images were affected?
Or anything you can give me, can help, because right now I have no idea and as I mentioned, I’ve never noticed similar problem on ~200 websites that I maintain
