Installation
From your WordPress dashboard
- Make sure BuddyPress (and BuddyPress Groups) are activated.
- Visit ‘Plugins > Add New’
- Search for ‘BP Auto Group Join’
- Activate BP Auto Group Join from your Plugins page.
From WordPress.org
- Make sure BuddyPress (and BuddyPress Groups) are activated.
- Download BP Auto Group Join.
- Upload the ‘bp-auto-group-join.zip’ file to your ‘/wp-content/plugins/’ directory, using your favorite method (ftp, sftp, etc…)
- Activate BP Auto Group Join from your Plugins page.
Configuration
- Visit ‘BuddyBoss > Auto Group Join’ for options and support.
- Edit any BuddyPress group from the admin to select auto-join options.
- Optionally configure Member Types using our BuddyPress Member Types plugin.

This is an essential functionality for a community, and it’s nice to have a free plugin for this.
But the plugin is not compatible with BuddyBoss Platform (a BuddyPress fork by BuddyBoss). When activated with BuddyBoss Platform (BuddyX free theme), everything seems to work as expected in the back-end, but the plugins causes a critical error on group pages on the front-end.
Also, the member type functionality, which supports BP Member Types, is not compatible with member types as native to the BuddyBoss Platform.
Overall, I find this plugin is pretty useful and functional, but it doesn’t play along well with a BuddyBoss fork, BuddyBoss Platform.
I would have put 5 stars anyways if this plugin was not published by BuddyBoss themselves, the creators of the BuddyBoss Platform. Please make this work with your very own BP fork!

I found that it breaks MailPoet famous plugin. Still it seems to work with BP. Developers must fix errors.
