George was born in Penkridge in 1873, the son of Martha and William Gallimore. George married Henrietta Rose in Dudley in 1894, and by 1901 they were living at 111 Beacon Street, Wolverhampton, with their two sons, William Norman and Ernest. George was working as a brewers drayman. They had moved to Lichfield by 1911, when George was a carter.
George enlisted in the 19th Remount Squadron of the Royal Army Service Corps (service number R4/064192), but unfortunately he died on 22 October 1918. He is buried in the Arquata Scrivia Communal Cemetery Extension in Italy, and is remembered on the memorial at St Mary’s Church, Bushbury.
