A downloadable mod

Version 1.1 - Updated starter farm equipment spawning. Removed hidden collisions. Operation floating tree removal. I believe a new save game would be required. These were minimal updates.

Remember, the original map is available here by Ola Haldor and Maps of Norway: https://www.farming-simulator.com/mod.php?mod_id=302731&title=fs2025

All beta notes have been moved to a dev log:

Welcome to Small Town USA. This is a fictional midwestern USA map with very large fields, rolling terrain and a small town.

  • You will spawn at Diamond Jim Johnston's house over by the sawmill. Buy a vehicle and you can teleport to MB Dyson John Deere right in town.
  • This is a BYOF (Build Your Own Farm) style map. Meaning that I have created a smaller number of very large fields and left open area for YOU to build things. I am going to play this as a "Farm the Map" game where 1-farm takes up the entire map.
  • I've added some fun easter-eggs to the map. Check them out in the woods.
  • The state park camping, hiking and forest area is fun.
  • Strange things happen in the woods though at night. Big crash site over on the NW corner of the map by Johnston's sawmill. I think something got hold of a could six packs and decided to fly. Not good.
  • You'll find some history over in the woods by Whiskey Creek Road. The long lost art is still alive and well. Maybe someday this will actually produce something.
  • The map gets 100% snow coverage. Or close to it. Yes, all the roads will need to be plowed in winter.
  • You can buy fuel at the fuel station or the tank over at Johnston's.
  • You can sell all your items at the farmers market over on Elm Road. Signs point to what you need to do.
  • The stripped grass comes from combining Meadow Grass Cut and Grass Cut together. They are basically the same texture but one is just a slightly different shade of green.
  • The shop trigger is at MB Dyson.
  • If you find anything, or have suggestions for improvements, please let me know.
  • I made the map for fun and to personally play, but wanted the community to enjoy as well. I'll update when there are major improvements (like traffic).
  • Sorry I don't have traffic yet. I still need to learn that.

Field Sizes/List: Total land size with original New Frontier small fields = 143.33ha (354.17 acres)

Field 6 - 2.33ha (5.7 acre)

Field 8 - 36.42ha (90.0 acre)

Field 9 - 11.42ha (28.21 acre)

Field 10 - 17.78ha (43.88 acre)

Field 11 - 29.51ha (72.92 acre)

Field 12 - 9.42ha (23.27 acre)

Field 13 - 3.3ha (8.15 acre)

is theres plans for an update to this map?

Love your stuff man!! You and others have inspired me to try this map and modding stuff, might take awhile but you will see something one day.

there is a collision on  field 53

is there any way to edit the map

I have trtied downloading it 3 times with no luck on it being added to my game. Any ideas?

do you have the frontier map downloaded, because it's an edit of frontier so you need that map to play this edited map version

I tried buying field 58 next to the dealership and it won’t let me buy the field I can buy everything around it just not the field itself ???

Shows that you own the area but is harvested and worked on its own

yes

I also love this nice little map! 👍❤️

But I have some issues with it:

The road splines is not working correct because AutoDrive only creates single routes and somewhere there is no road where it place the splines and other roads it only create splines in one direction, so according to FSG's fine tutorials about AD there is somthing wrong with the "In game roadsplines".

Is it possible you can take a look at that as well Stover?

Another issue is that the marking of the fields is not in the right place on the map, on my map all the fields and ikons for Farmers Market etc. Is moved about 10 mm to the right and about 10 mm down so it is not placed correct over the map. Does anyone have that issue as well ot is it only in my game and, if so, is there a way that I can fix it my self?

Thanks for the information. Yes, I'm still working on it. Little by little I can address these issues as I learn them.

Yes and your doing well Mate!
Is it possible that you can move the warehouse to another location and with its own building?
I think it is a little wrong placed beside the sawmill.
If you need a tester I am ready, just let me know! ;)

is the warehouse trigger working for you?

No  it's not, but I found another trigger on field 58 by a coincident.  It seems that there has been some kind of produktion or warehouse there.
I have made a production area there and a big parking lot and when I parked one of my trucks there the first time I activated a trigger to reload the Tippertrailer, so something has been there before.

I like it dude, I’m in about 4-5 hours nice work!

Thank you!

Is there a way to get the warehouse so we can buy building materials. there is a trigger there, but doesn't work. Unless we need to own that land.

I do think you need to own the land. I recommend just doing the dev command BuyAll land.

I have received a number of comments about the original map New Frontier and the designer at Maps of Norway Ola Haldor. Please, there is no need to negatively comment.

I greatly respect getting a map through Giants and also being the first to publish in FS25. The map itself is absolutely perfect for a playground environment where you can build anything you would like.

Unfortunately, I believe there is an air of mystery floating around about Giants Editor, mod makers, paid-for mods, private mods, public mods, etc.

I don't have a good answer.

I don't believe the community has a good answer.

What is the "right way" to mod based on other mods?

I'd like to think the ultimate goal  is to provide the very best experience for others playing the game.

If someone has a way to make a mod better, more efficient, detailed or generally just different, while providing credits to the original authors in a public way, I believe that is the very best solution we could hope for.

For blank maps, BYOF (build your own farm), or other types of playground maps/templates, I would fully expect other similar creations coming out in the future.  That's a good thing.

Afterall, poorly modded duplicates will get weeded out and the better ones will succeed.

In the end, I hope you just enjoy the game. Play the game. Have fun. Help someone out if you can.

Ola, great first map on the ModHub and I look forward to your future successes.

Happy farming from Stover.

Awesome Map! Thank you for modding

You are very welcome. Thanks for checking it out.

There is a collision on the edge of field 14 , by the build you own farm area, also when you start in new farmer mode all of your equipment is spawned by your sign and in the trees, I do have your latest updated map. Other then that i like this map thank you.

Thanks. Yeah, i realized my mistake with the equipment. I'm going to update the first start for new farmer mode. But I recommend everyone use Manager or Start-from-scratch mode. I'll have to find that collision by 14. Thanks for telling me.

I see it in game. I hit it in game. I can't for the life of me find it in GE.

its the map border E

Hi Farm Sim Player. The most recent V1.0 update has the buy points spawning at the JD dealership. You would need to do a new savegame if you are goin gfrom 0.9 to 1.0. If that is still the case, let me know then something is majorly wrong.

the version that is on this site is still 0.9 i think you forgot to update it.

Deleted 58 days ago

You probably need to update the map to the latest 1.0 update and start a new save game? My equipment spawns at the John Deere dealership.

well, I have what ever version is here and brand new save.

(+1)

So I messed up and the starter farm spawn point is right where my sign is. I'm going to move the sign and trees. Or you can start the game in Farm Manager or above modes.

This has been fixed.

Hello, the map is excellent, very good work, although some textures are missing. I have also noticed that when it rains, the streets do not create puddles. It is a shame since it is one of the few new things on the map and it would give it a more beautiful and realistic touch, since when it rains, the map looks great.

Hey Stover, great update for the most part! I have attached screenshots of some objects and areas of the map where it seems like textures are missing/bugged. So far, haven't noticed any floating buildings like others have reported...

Side note: where can we see the dev blog?

(+1)

Thank you very much for sending these. I have corrected the texture issues and reloaded. I also updated the store deliveries to allow for many more items..... Still can't figure out why my Farmers market is floating....

Are you able to change the store to the john deere dealer you have on there so bought vehicles spawn closer to town?

It has been changed and updated. You will likely need a new savegame.

(+1)

Thanks for the response! New savegame fixed me up only thing is i can only buy one thing before it says delivery space is blocked

Can others confirm the farmers market is floating for them? I don't see it on my end.

awesome job on the map your last update has the farmers market floating

Well that is very interesting...... I don't see that on my map. Wonderful why.

(+1)

i figured it out need a new game save for the terrain change to take effect.

(+1)

Gotcha!!!! That makes sense.

wow  excelente gracias  iba a empezar en river spring  pero me llego la notificación y empezare en tu mapa me encanta

¡Muchas gracias!

Even though you credit me in a screenshot, it would be nice if you linked to my  modhub or something.

And I'd appreciate if you had reached out to me beforehand.

(+2)

Hey Ola! Spectacular map. I'm completely new to modding so I have very little clue what SOP is for map making, sharing mods, creating maps.

Sorry I didn't reach out to you.

Gladly will link to your ModHub to New Frontier.

Thanks for reaching out and I look forward to your future projects.

Stover

He clearly gave you credit for the entire backbone of the map, and meant no harm in providing an iteration of it to other players. Isn't that why you created the map in the first place?

(+4)

you were credited for your empty map dont worry

(1 edit)

Ola your map is broken when on a dedicated server.  All of your roads have a white outline on them.  Please fix your map.  Only have your map loaded on server.  No other mods.

For your photos, are you using a shader in the game, or are you editing the photos in the post?

Hi. Using the shader that is setup in New Frontier. Doing some basic correction in post with sharpening and levels as my screen capture tends to really desaturate the game. Trying to keep it as close to true as possible.

Do you know if anyone is making a third gen. Chevy Camaro mod with all the trim levels and options they had back in the day? Spotted that yellow one in the photos and got curious.

I don't know. This 3rd gen came from a placeable pack in FS22 that I just did a really terrible job converting over :-) The paint job is very bad.

Straight up Loving this Map, Played the New Frontier as well. Loving the Small Town Vibe. I will for sure be playing this once a few more errors and warnings are cleared up.

Suggestions:
separate the Market and Sawmill, and if your leaving all the animals maybe relocate them to a separate area. that area seems very crowded and just thrown together. But I'm sure you have future plans for things like that. and that is why I am going to wait a bit to start this map. dont want to get started and then things get moved and interfere with what I get going.

I am anxiously waiting for the next update. Looking good and excited to see what you do with it.

Thank you. Yes, I just pulled the sawmill, market and animal dealer over to an area. Those were all from the original New Frontier. Working on getting updates out.

Looks Great, thank you

Thanks for playing and trying it out.

Very impressive that this is your first map ever, i love the road system and the difference in terrain elevations throughout the map. Only thing thats really missing to make it feel lived in for me is traffic

Issue i've found:

The scale of the "ok used mods" building in the town between 66 & 67 is a bit too large, character's head only reaches the door handles and the desk, fridge etc inside are taller than the character

https://imgur.com/SWh5sPC

Road system doesnt show up on the minimap (im assuming this will come later)

Suggestions -

i know its small town but would love it if the main town was a little bigger (more buildings etc) and more towns throughout the map

purchases spawning at the JD dealer (assuming this will come later as well?)

increase in the prices of fields, they are too cheap imo especially the very large ones

Again, great map, i've been waiting since fs25 release for a good american map to play on and this is it and its not even finished

hahaha. Thanks for sending those. I will get it rescaled. Working on traffic....

😉😍👍

With your creativity and detail, Id love to see a 2x map in this style down the road! Great work on setting this up!!

cant sell at grain silo

Thank you. Yes, everything there is not functioning right now. There is a second silo you can go to at the farmers market on the North side.

Initial impressions....great work!! I love the direction of detail you're taking, trying to make the map feel lived in and all the little details in the small town. I can see a great future of map making ahead of you. Thank you for this!

Thank you very much!

Yes, I still have all my i3d exports in the zip file. Once I get to a V1.0 I think I get rid of many of them..... Should pull the file size way down.

Hope you enjoy. It's far from perfect. But plays very nice. Happy farming.
