I might do more crack drabbles of the three spies, because I love the three of them together, and dammit, they deserve happiness and so much more. I'll separate each drabble with a cut and leave the most spoiler-filled one for last. Please heed the warnings if you don't want to be spoiled! Other than that, I hope you enjoy. &hearts;<br \/><br \/><b>Ordinary (no spoilers)<\/b><br \/><br \/>\u201cHow do you solve this logarithm?\u201d said Hae-jin.<br \/><br \/>Ryu-hwan shifted closer to the young boy. \u201cHere, let me see.\u201d<br \/><br \/>\u201cThe youngest Captain in all of North Korea can\u2019t do high school Math,\u201d snorted Hae-rang.<br \/><br \/>\u201cThe wannabe musician can\u2019t play a guitar,\u201d Hae-jin retorted.<br \/><br \/>\u201cWant to see what else I can do with a guitar?\u201d said Hae-rang, lifting the instrument menacingly into the air.<br \/><br \/>\u201cQuiet,\u201d said Ryu-hwan, frowning over Hae-jin\u2019s assignment. \u201cI can\u2019t concentrate.\u201d<br \/><br \/>Hae-rang\u2019s lip curled, but he lowered the guitar. \u201cHey Ryu-hwan, what happened to your errand runs?\u201d he asked. \u201cOld hag gave you the day off?\u201d<br \/><br \/>\u201cBe quiet, comrade,\u201d said Hae-jin. \u201cCaptain can\u2019t concentrate.\u201d<br \/><br \/>\u201cWhy don\u2019t you ask that Yoo-joon kid for help?\u201d <br \/><br \/>\u201cYoon Yoo-joon never completes his homework assignments.\u201d Hae-jin sniffed. \u201cSuch is the complacency of the South.\u201d<br \/><br \/>Hae-rang laughed and plucked a minor chord. \u201cSays the one who can\u2019t do high school Math.\u201d<br \/><br \/>\u201cCaptain, tell him to stop.\u201d<br \/><br \/>\u201cStop bullying him, Hae-rang,\u201d said Ryu-hwan absently.<br \/><br \/>\u201cDong-gu! Dong-gu ah! Come down here, I need help with these deliveries!\u201d<br \/><br \/>\u201cSorry, gotta go,\u201d said Ryu-hwan, dropping a hand on Hae-jin\u2019s thigh. He missed the light blush staining the boy\u2019s face, the maniacal grin on his old rival\u2019s. \u201cWhy don\u2019t you ask Hae-rang for help first?\u201d<br \/><br \/>Without pause, the elite spy of 5446 Corps rose to his feet and proceeded to fling himself down the steps, slippers flying. <br \/><br \/>\u201cI will never get used to that,\u201d said Hae-jin, eyes wide.<br \/><br \/>\u201cYeah, yeah,\u201d said Hae-rang. \u201cYou want help with that problem or not?\u201d<br \/><br \/>\u201cNot.\u201d<br \/><br \/>\u201cBrat.\u201d<a name='cutid1-end'><\/a><br \/><br \/><br \/><br \/><br \/><br \/><b>Life of a Salmon (light spoilers)<\/b><br \/><br \/>Hae-rang exhaled a puff of smoke. There wasn\u2019t much to observe in this tiny neighbourhood. He knew within a week that he was living in a shared compound with a harmless old man, an alcoholic, nicotine-addicted singer wannabe, and a reclusive introvert. For a while, he kept a close watch on the introvert \u2013 it was always the quiet ones \u2013but the man spent nearly all day in his apartment, eyes glued to his laptop screen. Yes, life in the South was nothing like the North: simple, happy and peaceful, save for occasional screaming from kids and the ill-tempered mother-son dyad down the street. These were selfish people who knew nothing of their nation or the call for re-unification \u2013 people who lived for themselves. <br \/><br \/>Hae-rang had never been more envious.<br \/><br \/>From the corner of his eye, he noted a familiar figure rounding the corner and walking towards his compound. <br \/><br \/>Hae-rang stubbed his cigarette butt against the wall and flicked the stick aside. \u201cHey, kid,\u201d he called out. <br \/><br \/>Dressed in school uniform starched perfectly at the collar, the teenager \u2013 Lee Hae-jin, was it? \u2013 stiffened ever so slightly, before approaching him with a stony-faced expression. \u201cI\u2019m your equal in rank.\u201d<br \/><br \/>\u201cWhatever, a kid\u2019s a kid,\u201d said Hae-rang.<br \/><br \/>\u201cWhat do you want?\u201d Hae-jin muttered.<br \/><br \/>Hae-rang gestured. \u201cIsn\u2019t it still a little warm for a cap like that?\u201d<br \/><br \/>Instantly, Hae-jin smiled, bright and wide-eyed. \u201cCaptain gave it to me,\u201d he said, hands reaching up to caress the woolen cap on his head.<br \/><br \/>\u201cOh, so <i>he\u2019s<\/i> \u2018Captain\u2019?\u201d said Hae-rang, grinning.<br \/><br \/>\u201cCaptain is Captain,\u201d said Hae-jin loftily. <br \/><br \/>\u201cBrat.\u201d<br \/><br \/>\u201cWatch your words with an equal, Captain Lee Hae-rang.\u201d<br \/><br \/>\u201cWell, <i>Captain<\/i> Lee Hae-jin, your precious Captain Won seems to be fitting in a little too well here, don\u2019t you think?\u201d<br \/><br \/>Hae-rang delighted in the myriad of emotions flitting across Hae-jin\u2019s face: surprise, confusion, doubt, and finally, anger. <br \/><br \/>\u201cThose are treacherous words, comrade,\u201d hissed the young spy. His fingers dug into the cap, pulling it tight around his ears. \u201cCaptain will never betray the nation. He\u2019s destined for greatness.\u201d <br \/><br \/>So young; so na\u00efve \u2013 what do you say to a kid who only knew of loyalty for the nation, of the message to return a hero soaked in the blood of the South, or die trying? <br \/><br \/>\u201cDon\u2019t you have homework to do?\u201d said Hae-rang.<br \/><br \/>\u201c<i>You\u2019re<\/i> the one who called me over!\u201d Hae-jin said, his voice keening to a whine. <br \/><br \/>As the kid stormed away, back straight with indignation, Hae-rang lifted his chin and inhaled. The metallic, tangy smell of blood was absent, replaced by a rank mixture of urine and car exhaust. <br \/><br \/>Ryu-hwan came to the South on orders; Hae-jin came to the South for his Captain. <br \/><br \/>He, however \u2013 he came to the South for freedom.<br \/><br \/>Hae-rang glanced back at his guitar, propped against the open apartment door. \u201cAt least salmon live their last days in contentment, eh, Commander Kim?\u201d <br \/><br \/>Days after his vocal audition, their greatest mission arrived.<a name='cutid2-end'><\/a><br \/><br \/><br \/><br \/><br \/><b>Till Death Do Us Part (full spoilers)<\/b><br \/><br \/>Wet. Hard. Warm. <i>Solid.<\/i><br \/><br \/>Even as Hae-jin\u2019s stumbled backwards, pain ebbing, he felt the Captain\u2019s broken body pulling his in an intimate embrace. Time slowed; Hae-jin tried to scream, but blood gurgled up his throat and he choked. Against him, the Captain jerked violently with each shot \u2013 parting gifts from those damned, traitorous South bastards. Fury washed over him like a tidal wave. Captain Won Ryu-hwan, an elite of the 5446 Corps \u2013 no, <i>the<\/i> elite \u2013 deserved a hero\u2019s death, revered by their great nation for his loyalty and skill, not the death of a coward, a traitor, forced to shield a hapless subordinate already on the verge of hell\u2019s abyss. <br \/><br \/>Hae-jin blamed the South for the Captain\u2019s fall; the craven dogs advancing behind their shields, the snake that stole him from Captain\u2019s side, and the blissful fools living in the little neighbourhood in the slums. They were ignorant, all of them, ignorant of Won Ryu-hwan and the greatness he possessed. To them, he was nothing but an idiot who played the fool and deserved a fool\u2019s death. Hae-jin cursed his fragile mind for succumbing so easily to pain. He wanted to teach the South clods a lesson, reach for their necks and feel the bone snap under his bare hands. <br \/><br \/>That\u2019s when he heard it \u2013 a whisper, deafening against the pouring rain.<br \/><br \/>\u201cHae-jin ah.\u201d  <br \/><br \/>It was the first time the Captain addressed him by his first name. <br \/><br \/>Hae-jin felt his heart squeeze, and he struggled to focus, drawing in a rasping breath. \u201cCaptain,\u201d he managed. His own voice sounded foreign to his ears.<br \/><br \/>\u201cStill scared of death?\u201d <br \/><br \/>Hae-jin felt the shift in weight, and he knew: Captain\u2019s legs were giving way. The wind howled against his back, a warning of the steep fall behind. Vengeance had to wait. At the very least, he could come back from hell and haunt these South bastards for eternity. Summoning the last of his strength, the young spy wrapped his arms round the slender waist.<br \/><br \/>\u201cAnd they call me the idiot,\u201d said the Captain.<br \/><br \/>Hae-jin smiled into the man\u2019s shoulder.<br \/><br \/> Wet. Hard. Have fun guessing the boys' abilities\/superpowers! Some are really obvious; others, not so much. Guess four out of six, and you might be rewarded with a quick drabble of your favourite 2PM superhero. ^^ Hope you like it. &hearts;<br \/><br \/><br \/>1. <br \/>When the fire alarm goes off for the eighth time that month, Seulong throws on a bathrobe and storms to the apartment across the hall. <br \/><br \/>\"It's two fucking am in the morning!\" he shouts over the piercing alarm. \"Show some self control!\" <br \/><br \/>The door opens to reveal a disheveled Junho, his hair and clothes more than a little singed. Folding his arms across his chest, the smaller man levels a sharp glare at Seulong. \"How would <i>you<\/i> like to have your boyfriend combust every time you go down on him?\"<br \/><br \/>\"But you make me so <i>hot<\/i>!\" says a voice from inside the apartment. Seulong claps a hand over his ears and groans.<br \/><br \/>\"Not funny, Chansung,\" Junho yells back. \"And do something about our bed sheets!\"<br \/><br \/>\"I've put out the fire, but you know I can't control smoke!\" <br \/><br \/>Taecyeon pokes his head out of the apartment next door, somehow managing to look maniacal despite the sleepy glaze in his eyes. \"Still blowing that torch, Junho?\" he asks, waggling his eyebrows.<br \/><br \/>\"Don't make me put an arrow through you, y'meathead,\" Junho says, ears flushing pink.<br \/><br \/>\"Not if I snap you like a twig first,\" says Taecyeon cheerfully.<br \/><br \/>\"Are you sparring, Ho? You know it heats me up when you move that ass!\" <br \/><br \/>\"Watch the couch,\" Junho yelps.<br \/><br \/><i>They never make any sense,<\/i> thinks Seulong, as sirens sound in the far distance. Shaking his head, he shuffles to the nearest stairway as quickly as he can. It's too early in the morning to listen to another tedious back-and-forth about mood-inducing fuck candles.<br \/><br \/>2.<br \/>Nichkhun's always covered from head to toe, even on the hottest days. Kwon thinks it's a waste; skin so fair shouldn't be concealed. When Kwon tries to ask why, his neighbour just smiles and cites some vague reason about the sun. It's not pretty Nichkhun, however, who baffles Kwon the most. No, it's the other neighbour, Wooyoung. That one always has an all-knowing smirk on his face, along with a terrifying ability to sneak up on him completely unaware. <br \/><br \/>Kwon knows they're hiding something.<br \/><br \/>He catches them once in a while; whispers of conversations in the shadowy corners of the stairwell. At first he thinks they're lovers, but lovers would choose to keep the relationship within their apartments. (Or <i>should<\/i>, as Jinwoon keeps telling him.) He hears snippets of names and places, but none of it makes any sense. And sometimes, just sometimes - perhaps a trick of light - Kwon swears that Wooyoung almost seems to fade into the background.<br \/><br \/>\"Who's Chansung?\" he asks one day.<br \/><br \/>They break apart, Nichkhun betraying a look of surprise for a split second. <br \/><br \/>\"Eavesdropping?\" says Wooyoung, lips curling. \"Not very becoming, Kwonnie.\"<br \/><br \/>\"I hate secrets,\" Kwon says with a huff.<br \/><br \/>\"Some secrets are best kept that way,\" Nichkhun says, before he takes Wooyoung by the wrist with a gloved hand. Wooyoung flushes, but follows Nichkhun down the stairs without a word.<br \/><br \/>Definitely lovers, Kwon concludes. <br \/><br \/>Now that other secret is going to drive him absolutely crazy.<br \/><br \/>3.<br \/>\"Boyfriend?\"<br \/><br \/>\"Yeah.\" Jinwoon stuffs his cellphone into his pocket, laughing softly. \"Something about his neighbours again.\"<br \/><br \/>\"Batshit?\"<br \/><br \/>\"Secretive.\"<br \/><br \/>Snorting, Junsu refills a cartridge and pops it back into a pistol. \"What does that make me?\"<br \/><br \/>\"Obsessed,\" Jinwoon says. He gestures to the display in front of them. \"You've got every handgun possible.\"<br \/><br \/>\"Everything but a Jericho 941. Importation ceased two years ago, though rumour has it a new model's coming out.\"<br \/><br \/>\"And how reliable are rumours?\" <br \/><br \/>Junsu spins the pistol and slips it into holster on his waist. \"Pretty damn reliable.\"<br \/><br \/>\"Nice,\" whistles Jinwoon.<br \/><br \/>Junsu flashes a cocky grin. \"Russian roulette?\"<br \/><br \/>\"Kwon would kill me.\"<br \/><br \/>\"Not if you're lucky.\" Junsu winks. \"Or <i>unlucky<\/i>, 'cause then you'd be dead anyway.\"<br \/><br \/>Jinwoon shoves at the older man. \"You're crazy.\"<br \/><br \/>\"'Least I'm not secretive.\"<br \/><br \/>4.<br \/>The aliens descend and all hell breaks loose.<br \/><br \/>Seulong wakes up to discover that he's hovering hundreds of feet off the ground, carried bridal-style by a flaming, humanoid creature. Around them, aliens are dropping like flies, struck either by arrows or the bodies of their own comrades, hurled from down below. Seulong takes a deep breath and screams like a little girl.<br \/><br \/>Scrambling behind a piece of what used to be his apartment building, Kwon decides to stay inside the barrier. Barely visible, it keeps out the aliens and flying debris, so Kwon isn't about to look a gift horse in the mouth. He thinks he spots a glove on the ground that looks familiar, but he can't say for sure. An alien prods at the barrier, before it's thrown by some invisible force. Flipping his cellphone open, Kwon makes a call.<br \/><br \/>\"Time of my life!\" Jinwoon shrieks into his phone. He laughs wildly as the Harley careens round a bend. Gunshots reverberate; bird-like screeches of rage follow. Jinwoon's terrified, but the thrill of the chase - of <i>being<\/i> chased - sends a rush down his spine and right to his toes. This is the epitome of rock culture; the very essence of rebellion.
