One of the lesser-known but highly useful features of Windows 11 is that you can project your screen to another Windows 11 device. For this to work, the device you want to use as the secondary monitor needs to have the wireless display feature. For example, if I want to use my laptop as the secondary screen for my desktop, my laptop should have the wireless display feature. However, since this feature is not widely used, it is not installed by default. But you can install it easily using the Optional Features tool in the Settings app.

  1. Press “Windows key + I” to open Settings.
  2. Go to the “System” > “Optional features” page.
  3. Click “View features“.
  4. Click the “See available features” option.
  5. Search for “Wireless Display“.
  6. Select the checkbox next to “Wireless Display”.
  7. Click “Add“.
  8. Let Windows install the feature.
  9. Close the Settings window and restart your computer.
  10. With that, you’ve installed the wireless display feature in Windows 11.

First, open the Settings window by pressing the “Windows key + I” shortcut. Alternatively, right-click the “Windows” icon on the taskbar and select the “Settings” option.

In the Settings window, go to the “System” tab on the sidebar and then click the “Optional features” option on the right page. Next, click the “View features” button.

You will see a list of all the available features for your system. Find the “Wireless display” feature, select the checkbox next to it, and click the “Add” button.

Note: You can quickly filter the list by searching for it using the top search bar.

As soon as you click the button, Windows 11 starts installing the wireless display feature. It may take a few minutes to complete, wait for it. Once done, close the Settings window and restart your computer.
