WildArk have partnered with Connoisseur and NUII to rewild a population of koalas on Mongo Valley Wildlife Sanctuary. We are building a koala breeding facility for wild release. The model of captive to wild will be the first of its kind and upon its success, a huge win for conservation in Australia.
In 2023, the project moves to the Aussie Ark Barrington Tops Wildlife Sanctuary in NSW, Australia, an environment free from many of the threats Koalas face.
The team at Aussie Ark will be monitoring and performing regular health checks on wild Koalas within the 400ha Sanctuary to improve breeding success, grow the population and put in place a strategy and management plan for the population.
