WIFT+ Toronto Logo Usage Guidelines
Thank you for your interest in using the WIFT+ Toronto logo. These guidelines are intended to ensure our brand is represented clearly and consistently across all platforms.
Permission and Attribution
The WIFT+ Toronto logo may be used when referencing the organization, its events, programs, or partnerships. The logo may not be used in a way that suggests endorsement or partnership without prior approval.
Approved Logo Files
Please use only the official logo files provided on this page. These files include full-colour, black, and white versions suitable for both digital and print use. Do not recreate, redraw, or alter the logo in any way.
Clear Space
To maintain legibility and visual impact, always leave adequate clear space around the logo. No text, graphics, or other visual elements should appear too close to the logo.
Colour Usage
The logo should only appear in the approved versions provided:
- Full-colour logo for use on light backgrounds
- White logo for use on dark backgrounds
- Black logo for monochrome applications
Please do not change the logo colours.
Incorrect Usage

Despite making some progress towards gender parity in the Canadian film and television production industry, research shows that women still face barriers to career advancement.
GENDER IMBALANCE IN THE FILM INDUSTRY
Although gender inequity in the film industry has been a well-documented problem for decades, the industry remains heavily dominated by men. That fact was underscored for Australian researcher Deb Verhoeven when she received an email showing women’s participation rates in her country’s film industry were lower than when she had started working as an industry lobbyist 30 years beforehand. Now Verhoeven, a Canada 150 Research Chair in Gender and Cultural Informatics at the University of Alberta, is launching a new project that looks at the issue from a different angle.

GEENA DAVIS INSTITUTE ON GENDER IN MEDIA
Founded by Academy Award-winning actor and advocate Geena Davis, the Institute is the only research-based organization working within the media and entertainment industry to engage, educate, and influence the need to dramatically improve, gender balance, reduce stereotyping and create diverse female characters in entertainment targeting children 11 and under.

RACIAL EQUITY MEDIA COLLECTIVE
A national not-for-profit organization committed to equity for Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour (BIPOC) creators in Canada’s film, television, and digital media industries.
Equitable directors is a non-profit organization founded in 2007; its members are professional directors of Quebec.
The Film Reference Library is dedicated to preserving Canadian cinema heritage and promoting cinema scholarship by collecting, preserving, and providing access to a comprehensive, non-circulating collection of reference resources, as well as film and archival materials — including the corporate archive for the Toronto International Film Festival.
WIFT CANADA COALITION- RESEARCH
A growing body of evidence demonstrates that the impacts of COVID-19 are exacerbating pre-existing social and economic gendered and racialized inequalities. Data indicates that the effects of working and learning from home are disproportionately affecting women and that social, economic, and public health risk-profiles for women, racialized and indigenous communities under COVID-19 are significantly higher than for the general population
This is the context for two research projects initiated by the WIFT Canada Coalition:
The Family Care Project and Deciding On Diversity
The Women’s Media Center—founded by Jane Fonda, Robin Morgan, and Gloria Steinem—has the goal of making women visible and powerful in the media. The Women’s Media Center is training women and girls to be media ready and media savvy, monitoring and calling out media sexism, launching petitions, inviting watch-ins, organizing tweet-ups, and other activist campaigns.
Women in View is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering greater racial and gender equity on screen and behind-the-scenes of Canadian media, entertainment, and digital industries.

ACCP is the not-for-profit trade association for the television commercial production industry in Toronto. Our members are engaged in the production of screen based digital advertising content for distribution on television and over the internet.
Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television
The Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television is the largest non-profit professional media arts organization in Canada. With a membership of more than 3,500 emerging and established industry professionals, we are dedicated to developing, recognizing, celebrating, and advocating for Canadian talent in the film, television, and digital media sectors.
ACTRA (Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists) is the national union of professional performers working in recorded media in Canada. ACTRA Toronto is the largest branch of ACTRA (the Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists), the union representing performers in the film, radio, television and digital media industries.

Association of Canadian Archivists (ACA)
Founded in 1975 and incorporated in 1978, the Association of Canadian Archivists (ACA) is a non-profit organization that represents the needs and interests of archives and records professionals throughout Canada. Equity is the voice of professional artists engaging in live performance in English Canada. We are a national association representing almost 6,000 artists working in theatre, opera and dance from coast-to-coast-to-coast. Equity's membership includes performers, directors, choreographers, fight directors, intimacy directors and stage managers.
Canadian Alliance of Film and Television Costume Arts and Design (CAFTCAD)
CAFTCAD exists from a collective desire to bring together costume professionals from all corners of the industry, regardless of union affiliation, experience, background, ethnicity, and identity. Through shared interest, respect and passion for the costume arts, CAFTCAD provides its members with an online and physical forum, promoting open discussion, shared learning, resources and professional networking.
The CCE is a bilingual not-for-profit organization with the goal of bettering the art and science of picture editing in all media.

Canadian Society of Cinematographers
A not-for-profit organization that was founded in 1957. Its purpose is to foster the art and craft of cinematography and imaging professionals at all levels. CSC members are involved in the production of feature films, documentaries, television series, specials and commercials.
Built over 20 years, CTMG is the only media group in Canada that provides an ecosystem of screen-based activities that serve Black Canadian, and culturally diverse audiences. CTMG is Black-owned, staffed and controlled. Our Board leadership and staff are mainly Black and are culturally diverse.
Founded by filmmaker and producer Frances-Anne Solomon, CineFam is registered as a not-for-profit company in Canada. Our mandate is to support bold, original film stories by Women and non-binary creators of colour around the globe.
