WGMS General Assembly

Achievements, challenges and future strategies

About every decade the WGMS holds a General Assembly bringing together the staff members of the central service, National Correspondents or their deputies representing the worldwide scientific collaboration network, as well as special guests from International Organizations. Besides the strengthening of the personal contacts within the network, the main goals of the meetings are to present and discuss (i) the current status  and challenges of the national glacier monitoring, (ii) measures to improve our service to the community, (iii) the definition of key tasks for the glacier monitoring of the coming decade, and (iv) the role of the Global Terrestrial Network for Glaciers (GTN-G) and International Organizations in this context.
