ficlet: leo messi and cristiano ronaldo [gen, g]
Once upon a time (it reall was a long time ago), I asked for writing prompts, and 
applegnat asked for five players who could/would find happiness or something like it at Barca, and challenged me to work in CRon. I had a couple of ideas (the original was going to include Mori in 2002, Chivu in 2007, Torres in 2006 amongst others) but they never got off the ground. Then by accident, I saw this old post-match interview with CRon from 2003, and he looked so small and lost and non-smug, [and had such awful hair]. So...yeah.
Not really big enough to be a fic, but here it is.
Barcelona almost signed Cristiano Ronaldo instead of Ricardo Quaresma in 2003. 16-year-old Leo was rising rapidly from the U19s to Barca C to Barca B and training with the first team in 2003.
