Supporting connection within and between.
Joining individuals, couples and families in their journey toward healing, health and joy.
At Wood Buffalo Therapy, attachment theory is at the heart of our therapeutic practice. This is achieved mainly through using Dr. Sue Johnson’s Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is a distinctive, powerful and evidence-based therapeutic approach, placing focus on experiences and relationships. EFT guides individuals to make sense of and enhance their connections with both themselves and others, through experiencing, acknowledging, and navigating emotions with the therapist. This humanistic, person centered therapeutic model has been used to help people develop self-confidence since the 1980’s. Creating a secure sense of self allows individuals to have a base where self understanding and connections with others can grow and flourish.
