As Sophie reminded me, there are all sorts of sharp and pointy things in the forge that pups can borrow to fight the invading monsters. Teja has been making and experimenting with lots of weapons, so whatever you need that has a blade, point, or edge, it is most likely there. Much of what he makes is either early medieval -- swords, battle-axes, throwing-axes, arrows, daggers, Roman short swords, sahsis -- but he has learned a lot from various Japanese affiliated pups, so there will Japanese style weapons as well -- katana, naginata, throwing stars, kama sickles etc. -- and most of his occidental weapons are made of Japanese style folded steel.

Pcik whatever you want for your pup -- Teja will be proud if that sizeable arsenal he amassed over time is used to defend Milliways!

So I heard you like ominous?

As of this post, last_master is preparing to be legacied. As mentioned, it will remain open through the end of the slowtime period (March 7), at which time this Obi-Wan will be leaving. Since it will be in slowtime, there's nothing to stop a hypothetical new Obi-Wan apping and even having EPs before then.

This wasn't a decision I took lightly, believe me. It's just that I'd been hearing him less and less in recent years. "How's this different from the rest of your lot, Tux?" you may well ask. The difference is that I'd been hearing them just fine; I just wasn't having the energy to act at length on the ideas I had with them.

He had a good innings. I'll still be as around as I've been lately, don't worry.

OKAY, YOU GUYS. The Allpocalypse, as you know, is taking place on Thursday, so it's high time I gave y'all a bit of a briefing on just what's going to happen once the hurricane hits the out-house.

In-game, events are scheduled to go down over a period of about six hours, from T-minus 6HRS, counting down to zero (Allpocalypse Now). However, because we know how much you all enjoy shenanigans, the actual threading of the endgame will take place over two days, starting tomorrow, so as many people as possible have the opportunity to get involved. (Slowtimes, of course, can continue running for the next two weeks.)

Beginning around late morning/early afternoon EST Wednesday, the first of the two main Allpocalypse posts will go up in milliways_bar. This post will be Millitimed to Thursday, and will cover the first three hours of the Allpocalypse. Each hour will have its own subthread, like so:

SUBTHREAD #1: -06 TO -05 HRS
SUBTHREAD #2: -05 TO -04 HRS
SUBTHREAD #3: -04 TO -03 HRS

Much like party posts, everyone is invited to interact within those subthreads, run around gratuitously threadhopping, reacting to events as they unfold, and generally joining in the free-for-all. Thursday's post will follow much the same format, and will cover the final three hours of the Allpocalypse.

Hold on, you say, 'react to events as they unfold'?

Mwahahaha. Haha. Ahem. Yes. With the gleeful co-mastermindery of those who came forward to throw something into the mix, as many of said things as I could feasibly cram in have been smooshed together to create a core chain of events that will lead to the Allpocalypse, and to Milliways' eventual fate.

Now, what exactly those events are, I shan't spoil too much. But if you want to jump in with a character, here are some things to tempt your palate:

Do it!

Well, with some caveats. If your character would be running around trying to evacuate people, hop into a subthread and get cracking! If your character would be frantically tending to the scorched and singed and gnawed-upon? Jump right in! All we ask is that you keep Allpocalypse-related things in the Allpocalypse posts.

And if you're planning something that you think might interfere with, ahem, Other Plans (destroying an artifact, breaking the Observation Window, etc.), then just ask! I'll be hanging out in AIM chatroom allpocalypse for as much of the duration as I can possibly manage, so feel free to swing on by and check in, co-ordinate shenanigans with any other players that may or may not be there, or just say hi!

You guys, this Allpocalypse plot outline takes up 5 A4 pages in my notebook, is probably the single most absurd thing I have ever written out at any point in my life, and I love you all.

I just wanted you all to know that.

(Now to see if I can type it up coherently. Everyone who replied to this post, keep an eye on your inboxes.)

Just a note to remind everyone: while we encourage y'all to have fun in the run-up to the Allpocalypse, please remember that godding other characters is still a no-no. If you plan to do something that affects other characters, you still need to:

a) check in with a mod,
b) make a back room post letting people know, and,
c) include some kind of opt-out clause - that is, a built-in reason why characters/players can ignore what you're doing if they so choose.

(As an example, say you wanted to have all the doors to Milliways rooms spontaneously lock themselves. This would god other characters as being locked in/out of their rooms without their players' consent - so instead, you would need to make it so that, for example, only some doors are randomly locked, or that the doors seem to be locking and unlocking at random intervals, or etc. etc. That way, anyone who doesn't want to have to deal with door-locking shenanigans can easily handwave their door as being one of the ones that didn't lock/their character as having been asleep at the time/whatever.)
