The hospitality sector, especially the hotel business, is at a crossroads. Dynamic business environments, rivalries, and isomorphisms in service operations are significant challenges for hotel enterprises. Fostering employee creativity is undoubtedly something that can well position a hotel in the face of competition. Research shows that corporate social responsibility (CSR) perceptions of employees for an enterprise can motivate them to be engaged in creativity. PurposeThe purpose of this study is to explore and highlight the issues and challenges teachers face while supervising thesis and projects in distance/online learning mode.Design/methodology/approachThis is a cross-sectional qualitative study. Grounded theory approach using Gioia methodology has been applied. Semi-structured interviews of 16 research supervisors have been conducted to explore the issues and challenges faced by the supervisors in guiding research students. Purposive sampling is used to select the subjects for data collection.FindingsResults of the study reveal that the time constraints, official restrictions, irregular contacts and technology are the main issues faced by supervisors. PurposeThe first objective of this study is to review the mechanism of conducting extra-curricular activities (ECAs) in the open and distance learning (ODL) setting. To achieve this objective, the procedure of ECAs at the Virtual University of Pakistan has been studied. Most of the products in the world are produced and delivered by value chains which are the sum name of value adding activities performed in a sequence by different firms working in different countries. And in most of the cases value chain actors belong to both developed and developing world and adding different amount of value to value chain for producing and distributing products. Some value chains are driven by buyers and other work under the leadership of producers. Those who hold the intangibles gain more than those who hold tangibles in a value chain because intangibles .e.g. brands, designs etc provide more sustainable competitive advantage and are more difficult to imitate than tangibles .e.g. machines, buildings etc. The role of developing country firms is maximum original equipment manufacturer and minimum job processors but the role of original brand and design manufacturer is mostly performed by developed country firms. Members working in developing countries are mostly SMEs and exist in clusters. Most of SME clusters in developing countries are linked with global value chain and in some cases with global value chains. These SME clusters are spontaneous and have emerged without any policy support but for upgrading they do need policy support at all levels. SME clusters in developing countries consist of sub-clusters and may involve more than one cities forming different links of value chain. Different studies show that SME clusters in developing countries are confronting different issues .e.g. lack of sufficient energy sources, lack of training centers, poor quality of inputs etc. On one hand these issues are restricting them to be innovative and on the other hand reducing their competitiveness. To transform from static and dynamic clusters to innovative clusters they obviously need some solid demand driven policy measures at every level.

Purpose: This study has explored the knowledge acquisition and sharing processes operative in the football industry of Sialkot, Pakistan. This study has focused on how these firms could adopt new means of technologically advanced football processes. Knowledge acquisition, dissemination, and conversion have remained unexplored in the football production processes. Study design: The qualitative research methodology was used, and the grounded theory approach was applied. Using semi-structured interviews, data were collected from 15 informants, including CEOs, managers, and owners. Purposive sampling was used to select the informants. Banking sector is the back bone for the economical development of any country and working women, being a considerable part of the society, also played a vital role in the smooth run of banking sector. Our focus in this research is on the "Problems faced by working women in the Banking Sector of Bahawalpur". In this research, We observed that Parents are supportive to send their daughter in banking sector but other relative and Moral Values of the Society is creating problem for working women which is causing non-supportive attitude of husband of working married women. Majority of the respondent are agreed on the point that married women are facing more problem than unmarried women although the children of married are not neglected but husband attitude remain non-supportive. Most of the respondents are satisfied with salary structure but they are not satisfied with the promotional system in the banking sector as they believe the basis of promotion is favoritism. With all these problem though, The research concludes that the Banking Sector of Bahawalpur is considered to be a very good sector for female workers as more than 80% respondent are agreed for this sector should be adopted by female workers.

For them life gets more and more unbearable by the day. There is talk, even hope, of a military takeover to clean out the rot that the politicians have created. So, is democracy not the answer for Pakistan?

Today, a major goal in higher education is the advancement of students' vocational competences. To assess the extent to which this goal is met, both competences acquired during university studies and later vocational success need to be measured. In our study, we collected self-ratings of competences (t1) and indicators of vocational success (t2) in 210 alumni of the Freie Universität Berlin. Using structural equation models along with this longitudinal data, we found that self-ratings of competences accounted for a substantial proportion of the variance in different measures of vocational success five years later.
