Welcome to the Vintage Attitudes community.

Are you interested in history from the ancient history (BCE) thru pre-WWII (1940ish)? Do you enjoy reading Jane Austen and Georgette Heyer? Are you a Hercule Poirot fan? Do you know what PBS, BBC and A & E stand for? Do you enjoy Regency, Victorian and Edwardian Fashions? Ever wish you could dress up in vintage dress and not be considered peculiar? Do you like to learn new things and share what you already know? Do you have questions about how people entertained themselves before TV? Do you like all things English and or European? Do you want to meet with a group of like-minded people in a friendly environment? Are you a Re-enactor, history buff, romantic, writer, world builder, feel like you were born in the wrong era, just curious?

The ideas behind this community are to encourage an interest in history and to provide food-for-thought, help create a re-enactor’s identity or find some helpful key to giving you the perfect idea for a story or kick off an idea for your own world.

Topics of discussion may run from large global issues like world wars, economics, trade, colonization, cultures to small details like the art of conversation, plain and fancy sewing, dressmaking or the art of nice manners.

All things historical are welcome. Find out what daily life was really like back then. Explore and discuss books and movies.

I hope to encourage discussions about life, grace, beauty, elegance, kindness, vintage advice, reading, society, vintage politics, recipes, social conditions, history, world building, period re-enactments, period politics or whatever else people are interested in.

Welcome to the Vintage Attitudes Community where the goals are to get together, to share laughter and lively society (the best kind of society!). Please post your own ideas or questions. This community is intended to compliment the little_details and worldbuilding communities.
