Seventy-five years ago today the first issue of Action Comics hit the newsstands, introducing the world to the Last Son of Krypton. Kal-el has changed a lot since then (the compassionate icon depicted above in my favorite page from Morrison and Quitely's All-Star Superman is not the brash young populist bulling his way around in Siegel and Shuster's early stories), but he's still just as super as ever.
