With regards to the name of “Vanishing Trooper” it comes from the Super Robot Wars series and is the nickname of the Huckebein series of mechs. You can see some footage of it in action from one of the PS2 games here:

Incidentally the theme music for this mech is also named “Vanishing Trooper”.
