The Gender Public Advocacy Coalition is pleased to announce the release of its 2008 GENIUS Survey in partnership with Ernst & Young. GenderPAC works to ensure that classrooms, communities and workplaces are safe for everyone to learn, grow and succeed. The Gender Equality National Index for Universities & Schools (GENIUS), GenderPAC’s most recent effort to end discrimination and promote awareness, encourages colleges and universities to recognize the benefits of a GenderSAFEtm campus - supportive equitable and protective for all students. Choosing to participate in GENUIS sends a strong public statement that bullying or discriminating based on the race, sex or gender of a student, faculty, or staff member is not tolerated at your institution Fill out the survey at: www.gpac.org/GENIUS2008survey, and make sure that we have data for as many schools as possible. Your voice will help us continue to work towards a safe and welcoming environment for every student. While we greatly appreciate the interest taken in GENIUS by students, staff and faculty at academic institutions outside of the United States, at this time GENIUS is only able to track schools based in the United States. |

UWGB VS UWM
Now that I'm back in Milwaukee and have gone back to school, I some how wound up at UWM. It stinks. No really, its so awful. I miss Green Bay's campus like nobody's business. It might seem convienent to be located in the middle of the city until you consider the parking. Yes, GB's got its parking issues, but nothin like this where you drive around for a half hour or pay a dollar an hour to park. Also, being smack dab in the city there's no anything. The animals and wilderness of GB's campus are just so much more inviting than it is here. I miss my teachers. I miss my desks that actually functioned and had space for a NOTEBOOK. |

Green Bay summer sublet
I'm going to be in Green Bay for the summer for an internship and was wondering if anybody is in need of a summer roommate? I'm clean and organized so there's no need to worry about that. I'm 19 and will have just finished my sophomore year at UW-Madison. Leave me a comment if you know anybody who needs one! |

So any one else have anything they want to vent about the email problem? For me it's causing some major communication issues with my Econ group. |

Summer Days
Well, I got bored at work, so I thought I'd say hello to the GB community, which has unfortunately lost much of its participation. I know you'd all rather be on facebook....but who's excited to come back this fall? There are a bunch of changes happening on campus, and hopefully for the better. The new sports center and adding on to the Union. They're starting that soon, right? Anyway, hope you're all doing well, and I'll see the majority of you on campus soon! |

sorry to anyone who has to see this multiple times, but i'm cross-posting it all over. i know this is a stretch for some of the communities that i'm posting this to, but i'm going to pharmacy school next year in madison, and i'm in serious need of a roommate. if anybody is going to either graduate or professional school in madison and would like to share one of the University Apartments that would be awesome, or if you're anybody else (graduate, professional, or undergraduate) who has an apartment down there (or is looking to get one) and would like a roommate, let me know! |

The Introductory Phase
Wow, I shouldn't find it hard to believe there's a community for UWGB, but I do, if only a little. I grew up on the west side, over by the Oneida Golf and Riding Club. I remember when they used to stable the horses there. My mom was a Fighting Phoenix, and I wanted to follow in her footsteps. Turns out I just dicked around for four years, drank a lot and never graduated; I wasn't for GB and GB wasn't for me. I left and went to culinary school in Chicago, and it was probably one of the better decisions I've made in my life. But those four years at GB...I wouldn't trade them for the world. Major details under the cut, kids. ( The inside joke used to be 'Aloha from balmy, tropical Wisconsin.'Collapse ) |

ITT Tech Green Bay Game Developer Seminar: Free
I have alot of fond memories of UWGB. I'm a 1995 graduate of UWGB, in computer science- at which point I went to Madison to finish up a Master's Degree. I've been working in video games for the past 6 years and have finished titles such as Soldier of Fortune, Quake 4, XMen Legends and Incredible Hulk. But now, after a decade, I'm finally back in GB. I'm teaching as the lead game development professor at ITT Tech (Northwest side GB). I don't know how many of you on this board are interested in art, design or programming, but if you are you should come to our free seminar on Monday morning. We are flying an industry veteran out here (from the west coast) to talk about game design and development. Here are some details if you are interested, or if you know someone who is please pass along this information. --------- Eric Holmes: Harnessing the Hulk ITT Tech Game Developer's Club December 5th, 10:30 AM 470 Security Blvd. Green Bay WI Questions: [email protected]Here at ITT Tech Green Bay, we are bringing modern game development to Northeast Wisconsin. Our bachelor's program in Game Design is tapping into industry professionals across the continent. Come join us for the next game design seminar. This time around we are lucky enough to be hosting a talk which was prepared for the biggest developer conference in the world. Still interested? Go here more information about the talk or about the Green Bay Game Developer's Club. |

so today i was in the community center computer lab printing out my biochemistry research poster presentation. i'm the only person in there. some stupid freshman bitch girl touring a group of 5th graders comes in, and she says really loud "this is the computer lab. this is where kids who can't afford computers go to use computers." i seriously wanted to punch her. no, i'm not 'too poor' to have my own computer on campus. i just choose to print my stuff off in the computer lab because it's free and looks way better. dumb bitch. |
