While much work has been done to study the grave goods and burials of Ancient Egyptian, our understanding of what happened during the funeral remains limited. It can be argued that there is normally little evidence of how funerals were conducted in many cultures without ethnographic research to back it up, however the study of Ancient Egyptian funerary scenes and literature may provide an idea of what the funeral may have been like.

Sadly these articles do not deeply elaborate on what affect their collections had on the creation of their programs and exhibits. The examples of the success produced by an audience-first approach seem to be abundant in bringing people into museums, and therefore the theory must not be discounted, however this project combines object-oriented knowledge with audience-focused distribution.

The collection is small and the documentation of the provenience information gives the reader little information about the artifacts aside from what they look like. Due to the lack of information about them, this small assemblage has been admired only for its aesthetic qualities, instead of being understood as cultural artifacts that they are and their place in human history. However this era is ended as the research presented here documents the archaeological value of this collection, making it an indispensable resource for future researchers and educators; using artifacts as tools to connect modern people with the past.

Little was known about the people, plants, animals, and landscape of this vast west. However, the plans of President Jefferson, his secretary, Meriwether Lewis, and friend William Clark would open the gates of the West and set the stage for Manifest Destiny in the decades to come. On the trek from St. Louis to the Pacific Northwest and back, the Corps of Discovery would cross nearly eight thousand miles and fill seven volumes worth of journal entries, that included documentation of 195 different native groups with which they interacted. And yet, based on these journal entries, and letters pertaining to the expedition, Lewis and Clark’s attitudes toward the Native Americans they encountered remained unchanged.

In getting both radiocarbon dates and Strontium levels, we are able to pinpoint where the cow grew up and when it most likely shed the tooth. Due to radiocarbon dates from the Luna Site coming back inclusive, the Sr testing allowed us to narrow down the radiocarbon date, which in turn helps in understanding the effect of pedoturbation across the site.
