The Thought Studio is at the center of the most challenging and key initiatives/studies on Heritage that have changed the perception, preservation and promotion of monuments in India and abroad.
It has conducted a range of studies on its own, on special request by the Ministry of Culture, and for state governments like Rajasthan and Punjab. The analyses and interpretation work has consistently led to startling facts and discoveries on the monuments and their people that built them.
The international project of the Thought Studio is an ongoing work and promises to transform the very perception of the built heritage of the world across civilizations from Sumerian, Indus, Egypt to Phoenician, Roman, Byzantine & Abassid, Mughal periods.
Its recently published book on the Citadel of Amer has received critical acclaim from experts in the field and government.
While Amer was always known for its great palace and temple remains, much remained unrealized. The study highlighted how the Citadel of Amer is actually a composition of three rings and multiple fortresses that guard a very unique historical town. Amer had the rare destiny of never being destroyed or razed to the ground and by virtue of that the city is an exquisite repository of built heritage that covers temples, fortification systems, different architectural styles all surviving in one place.
Further, the Ministry of Culture & the Govt of Rajasthan called upon The Thought Studio to undertake key analyses of the Fort of Gagron, for the world heritage dossier on the hill forts of Rajasthan. The earlier dossier had faced issues and special care was required for the Fort of Gagron’s candidacy.
The analyses and findings of both Gagron and Amer were added to the redrafted dossier and the World Heritage Status were conferred to the Hill Forts of Rajasthan in June this year.

A geometry commands the tectonics and shape of the indian subcontinent. A prime bearing ( orientation) and three subsequent orientations combine to carve out the landscape. While previously many have discussed and hypothesised the layout of cratons and oregens - no one has led the lens of geometry and pattern recognition to outline a new story of the geology of India. This publication sets forth the basis for future investigations and study. Patterns and mathematics being the language of nature, it is outstanding to see how 3 distinct directionalities command this huge land mass.

The point: Great hullabaloo is being made about the future and how most people shall live in 'urban' areas. Many experts, organizations, conferences are on board a crazed bandwagon and spurting trends all built on befuddled logic and advocating band aid approaches. It is time to disentangle the mess and set forth clear fundamentals. Eventually building up to a new vision.
